Scope: Branding, Graphic Design, Wireframing, UI/UX Design
Challenge
QuanDx approached me to re-evaluate and update their brand to enter multiple markets as well as update the UI for their PCR device. The Q-Velox is a molecular analysis device used by medical researchers in a lab environment. It needed a clean GUI that is easy to learn and operate. The device needed to look professional, establish trust and adhere to their brand aesthetics.
Approach
I started by conducting a branding workshop with company leaders to understand their target audience and desired brand messaging. I then developed a logo system that would function as the center of their brand identity. I completed the brand guide with a color palette, typography, and image guidelines.
For the Q-Velox GUI, I started by understanding the user of the device and what tasks they needed to perform to operate the machine. I had regular meetings with the company leaders and developers of the medical device. I created multiple iterations of the design I explored and developed a style that matched the QuanDx brand aesthetic. I finished the design by providing detailed features such as feedback tones and interactions. I presented the design to the company leaders and the design was implemented in the final medical device.
