Date: January, 2020
Scope: Design Thinking, Graphic Deign, Industrial Design, UI/UX Design, Startups, Business Models, Sales & Marketing, Finance
Global Teaching Labs is a program through MIT that brings MIT students to teach at schools across the world. I was paired with Loop, a Palestinian school in Nazareth that helps middle school and high school students learn about technology and business.
I spent 4 weeks developing a curriculum and teaching 2 modules; design and business. For the design module, I led a design thinking sprint and taught graphic design, industrial design, and UI/UX, teaching both theory and technical skills. For the business module, I lectured on entrepreneurship, business models, sales & marketing, and finance.
By the end of the design courses, students were able to use professional design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Onshape, and Figma. They were also able to build their own business models, perform personal sales, and build functioning spreadsheets.
